I disagree with Peter Thiel here. Bitcoin operates on a proof-of-work system, so it is much more resistant to being co-opted by institutions like Blackrock

Sometimes I think that Peter Thiel is such a contrarian that he always has to take the contrarian position. Because it has become his identity.

He refuses to let them put makeup on him which I can sympathize w/ but he always looks like a sweaty gas station hotdog under the spotlights when he’s doing interviews

I think his point is if the masses are holding BTC through BlackRock most of the purported benefits are negated. It can be seized and you have no sovereignty over your money.
