The left is authoritarian in Brazil. They've killed the former mayor of my city and threatened to kill my mom.

1️⃣ -🚨  In January 8th of 2023 the Brazilian Far-Right and supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro tried to overthrow the government of newly elected Center-Left president Lula.
- They invaded major buildings of Brasília (Brazil’s capital) in an attempt to call the military to impose a coup d'état. It was a really stupid attempt, mainly because it was during the weekend? No one was working.
- Because of this coup attempt they damaged the main government buildings of Brazil (Supreme Court, Congress, Presidential Palace, etc) and were all arrested by the Brazilian Federal Police.
-⚠️  Alexandre de Moraes AKA Xandão. He is a Brazilian Supreme Court Judge and also was the president of the Superior Electoral Court in Brazil until June of this year.
He was the one who ordered to arrest all the insurgents, and ordered Elon to surrender the names and IP addresses of every Brazilian X account who used X to organize this coup attempt.

I automatically assume that every government that bans X wants to control their citizens social media feed.

I heard this on the radio this morning. They are freezing starlink too. Crazy.

Do you think this is an opportunity for Merlke to make an effort to bring in people from Brazil to farcaster? Or is it not worth it because of the circumstances? I.e people massively joining fc, X sorts things out, these people just go back?

Is this still about the back and forth between the Musk and the supreme court judge about their earlier ruling??
