Experiment: Hiding power badges Power badges will be hidden on Warpcast for a week. We’re running this experiment because: 1. New user find it hard to get follows due to “power badge bias” 2. Power badge isn’t being used much in Warpcast anymore.

Re: Power badge isn’t being used much in Warpcast anymore. The Power badge, as a social reputation layer, is actually widely used in the Farcaster ecosystem. https://warpcast.com/dwr.eth/0x517da764

I also don't understand this statement. Apps like @buoy and @recaster-fc heavily rely on the power badge. What’s the point of having a decentralized protocol if every app in the ecosystem depends on a single client that dominates the protocol by implementing centralized features and can decide to shut them down whenever they want?

If developers want to maintain the PB, at least in the backend, they should advocate for that. Currently, many people are advocating that PBs go away. And maybe with machine learning and other scores, the PB isn't as usual to the social aspect of the platform as it once was.

The PB is not being maintained. The list hasn't been updated in weeks. So how can developers use it?

Really? I'm seeing folks getting and losing them weekly. I thought they were updating. Sounds like a challenge to build around something that changes frequently. Keep doing what you're doing! Voicing these concerns and making a case for those depending on these metrics.
