This chart shows total weekly casts for 14 Farcaster OGs, starting from February 2023. Notice how beginning in January 2024, these OGs began casting less frequently on a weekly basis. Guess what launched in January?

As the network grows and there’s more to consume, there’s more opportunity to be passive. I would imagine that in earlier days, you literally saw all casts and the only thing left to do was cast yourself.

many things launched. there was an explosion in fc activity. e.g. frames (thus df casting more), degen (ace i believe). given the growth it seems weird the chart actually looks like this. there's not much to see and if you presented it to anyone without context i bet no one would notice much.

I see ebbs and flows. trend line up. Farcaster became more useful end of 2023, early 24. This correlated with crypto turning more positive, opportunistic, user inflows and new features that changed discovery. > personally looking for interesting corners while large channels need a better personally configurable feed
