While I mentioned academia specifically in my last cast about Bluesky, I've also noticed a lot of the cutting-edge discussions around finance, economics, markets etc. have steadily been moving to Bluesky. There's no reason Farcaster couldn't be a good fit for these communities, this is a once-in-a-decade opportunity. And no, none of these topics are about politics, since for some reason a lot of responses shoehorned politics into it.

According to Hong Kong Ta Kung Pao, Zhu Haokang, head of digital asset management and family wealth management at Huaxia Fund (Hong Kong), stated that in order to encourage mainland enterprises with investment and financing needs to raise funds in the Web3.0 industry through Hong Kong's compliant tokenization securities laws and virtual asset trading platforms, Hong Kong can take the following measures: firstly, Hong Kong should fully leverage its advantages as an international financial center and actively improve the legal and regulatory framework for tokenization securities. At the same time, professional institutions in Hong Kong can provide legal and financial consulting services for mainland enterprises on RWA token issuance, helping them familiarize themselves with the issuance and trading process of tokenized securities. HashKey Capital CEO Deng Chao stated that cryptocurrency projects will attract more venture capital funding by 2025. Venture capital firms are focusing on stablecoin products, tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), artificial intelligence, and infrastructure. Chao stated that the rise in digital asset valuations in 2024 and the favorable news of Donald Trump's re-election in the United States will attract more venture capital to enter cryptocurrency projects. Chao stated, "As we enter a supportive macro environment driven by US stimulus policies and the formalization of cryptocurrency regulatory frameworks, these macro tailwinds will drive more venture capital into 2025." Despite the optimistic outlook, Deng Chao warns that macro risks, including geopolitical tensions or increased deficit spending, may exacerbate price volatility and uncertainty in the new year. @drivenbyboredom

For example, HyperLiquid's HYPE token has risen by over 15% in the past 24 hours, while AI driven venture capital DAO token ai16z has risen by 8% during the same period. Although emerging technologies and decentralized platforms provide exciting opportunities for investors, the strengthening of the US dollar has put pressure on digital asset prices. Ruslan Lienkha, the market director of YouHodler, pointed out that higher interest rates make bonds and US treasury bond bonds more attractive to international capital, thus pushing up the value of the US dollar.
