Back doors happen behind closed doors. Signal set the standard for security - but encryption isn’t enough anymore. We must decentralize too. We are working insanely hard to have an amazing decentralized signal using XMTP asap. We need the killer XMTP app, signal gave us good security properties but encryption isn’t enough anymore. Their servers are closed, and backdoors happen behind closed doors. We are building it all fully open sourced if anyone wants to come build, give feedback, critique, code, whatever.
