Meaning: the practice of organizing countless in-person conferences worldwide for the globally decentralized crypto community is a necessary first step towards materializing cloud communities into physical form. It’s an important thing that many don’t yet think of as important. Like video games leading to AI GPUs, or social media leading to AI training data.

Farcaster reversed this though. FarCon started as a small community gathering in 2023 (70 people gathered in Boston on a weekend) and each year it's starting to feel more like a conference.

These conferences only magnify the cultural and wealth divide in this industry as well as racism, sexism, and the lack of event organizing x production skills 🤷🏾‍♀️ Going to a conference to see the same 85 men circle jerk is a waste of resources and energy #SideEventsShallProsper
