My son is growing up and this year he asked if the story of Passover is “real” — do we have proof any of it happened. What would be your answer?

How old is he? 

I’d probably say the story has elements of truth, but divert the question into the importance of the story to Judaism & the complexity of the relationship between scripture/values/history

I’d hope that the answer makes him more curious

What outcome would you be excited to see in him from this?
