Unless you go to a super high end / fine dining restaurant, just take them with you . They are humans kids , arenโ€™t they ? Some people with stare and give you looks but donโ€™t read much in to it . Kids will get used to behaving and they will learn the ways . Much smarter than we give them credit for ๐Ÿ˜‚

A kid menu. Even if you donโ€™t need it for your kids, you know they expect and welcome them. Google restaurant results also have an about tab that details if kid friendly - Pulls from reviews. FYI when my kids were infants/toddlers I had - no tablecloth rule because they grab on them and yank in addition to messiness.

Recommendation. Itโ€™s harder when you travel. Best place I went was a pancake house in the north of the Netherlands. Huge play area for small kids, and a game room for teenagers.

Looking forward to seeing other answers. For me, itโ€™s recommendations (first) and then Google Maps reviews + photos (second)

In part that depends on your definition of kid friendly. For example: we canโ€™t stand places that offer grilled cheese and chicken fingers as a kids menu, but for other parents thatโ€™s a must.

We just take our kids wherever we want to go for the most part. They are 1 and 3 so not easy to manage, but it has never been too much of a problem.
