Just tried EMDR the other day, after learning about it through an Andrew Huberman podcast. It's really interesting, after doing some resource building, you basically engage in an active daydream and enter into a trance like state where really interesting insights begin to emerge. Has anyone else also tried it?

I did it for about 2-3 months last fall, and found the biggest thing it did was soften some of the triggering aspects of the traumatic experience I was revisiting in the sessions. It was extremely exhausting every time, and I remembered a lot more details and things than I had been able to beforehand. Will say it didn't really lighten the actual memories or resulting feelings from them, just softened it so I wasn't so impulsive/reactive when I would think about it. Which I guess has been useful, more able to discuss it afterwards in other therapy modalities
