Hi Casters. I have been enjoying the Lunch beer from Maine Beer Company so much in the last few years. I think it might be the best beer in America right now. Agree or disagree? if you disagree, what would you vote for?

That is an excellent beer. However, I think Reject the Algorithm by Noble Savage Brewing in Glen Cove, NY is slightly better. Sadly they don’t distribute into the city so the only way to get it is by going to the taproom.

I really like Ed Raven who’s behind Greenpoint Beer & Ale. He was the exclusive importer of Jever & Gofel Kolsch and has another beer store in Greenpoint. His Pilsner is one of the best I’ve ever had. Are you drinking them during lunch as a low ABV pairs nicely drink? Or in a different context @fredwilson.eth?

I tried their Breakfast the other day and it was great! Next time need to go for their Lunch or Dinner, or maybe Dinner & Second Dinner after Lunch 😂 ?

Lunch is fantastic. Classic IPA flavors right there, without being too dank. Another one that’s great and getting wider distribution is Other Half’s Broccoli. It’s a really excellent Double IPA with a more modern hop profile, and not as complicated as some other contemporaries.

I quite like a New Zealand style pale ale. They’re hazy, less bitter than an IPA, more sessionable (5-6% ABV) and generally better balanced. I’m seeing more breweries experiment with them lately. I’m particularly into this one from Upward Brewery from the Catskills.

Great choice, I agree that Lunch along with Heady Topper are among the best beers in the world. but I just don’t like to drink that heavy most of the time. My favorite daily drinker is the 5.5% abv Mosaic Session IPA by Karl Strauss. A great beer to highlight the Mosaic hop.
