The Chengdu court has released the top ten typical cases for 2024, including the disclosure of a fundraising fraud and money laundering case involving the "GUCS" virtual currency and its associated software "Wa11etPro" APP. Defendants Wang and others vigorously promoted the economic value and investment prospects of GUCS currency in Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and other places, using the form of recruiting people to develop downlines, resulting in losses of more than 29000 fundraising participants totaling over 1.7 billion yuan. Wang was sentenced to life imprisonment, deprived of political rights for life, and had all personal property confiscated. @gyoju

According to DigitalAsset, prosecutors in Seoul, South Korea, arrested two suspect in their 30s and 20s today, which seems to be the first violation of the newly implemented Virtual Asset User Protection Law in South Korea. They were accused of manipulating the price of the cryptocurrency Fusivist (ACE), which is only listed on the local exchange Bithumb, by falsifying purchase orders and exaggerating trading volume, illegally profiting about 7 billion Korean won (approximately 4.76 million US dollars) from it. The media pointed out that the ACE trading volume and price data displayed on the Bithumb website are consistent with the data in the announcement released by the prosecutor. @gyokeres

The government initially reported a 653000 job increase in the second quarter of 2024. This is actually negative. Last year's job numbers were also revised to 800000.
