Yes! Comfy big kindle and Readwise tablet. Android is a punish (coming from Apple), and there are no good minimalist writing apps, it seems. (Nothing like Ulysses or iaWriter) but Obsidian works well. Overall; impressed.

Once upon a time I would have said RUNE (for thorchain)—but they then messed with the model. The token is still definitely needed for managing cross-chain liquidity, but it will be a while yet before I can confidently recommend it (they need to clear some bad debt first)

If the Musk-Trump playbook works, what’s left of valuable state capacity in the USG will basically be sold to private equity by 2028. Anything left behind because it can’t be privatized will be tax-revenue starved, with any jobs that remain being filled by industry-captured right-wing staffers. The only meaningful kind of capacity left will be military and police capacity. Ie a night-watchman state. If you ignore the political theater around DOGE, it’s basically the PE playbook for domestic policy. The exact things you’d do to take a vulnerable company private via hostile takeover. Trade wars as the basis for foreign policy is similarly the PE playbook in international relations. Taking an entire country private. “Efficiency” as a pure religion has no other purpose than enclosure. What’s going on is the exact opposite of public goods thinking in the sense the Ethereum community values,

I don’t like meaning-making either, but it’s probably better than the meaning-discovery notion that Peterson brings (which implies that meanings are fixed and eternal, rather than dynamic and relational).

Well yeah the metacrisis *is* an “artificial” linguistic construct that articulates and frames the generator functions that give rise to our polycrisis, but still: it’s a useful frame. Otherwise we just end up talking about each generator function in isolation, without surfacing the underlying pattern.

Huge fan of Jenny. I remember hearing her in an interview being asked about all the things she “must want to do” now that How To Do Nothing was such a success. The interviewer was baffled that, no, Jenny was quite fine to not auto-capitalise on the momentum. In fact, she’d prefer not to.

🌸 gm 🌸 looks like i have to start my site over with a new template, so i decided to take a small break and start the new art series instead. it’s really nice to make art just for fun, and i’m excited to share what i’ve been working on soon! do you prioritize fun creative time just for yourself? spending all day doing unsatisfying work, then being exhausted afterwards and turning to mindless entertainment or numbing behaviours, is one of the worst ways to live for your mental health some people have overcome this cycle by packing their days with maximized productivity and personal growth podcasts and biohacking, but that is often anxiety-based too i know from experience how hard it can be to not live in these ways, but we really need self-expression and play to see real growth and personal fulfillment. be easy on yourself 💛 featured artwork: free your soul
