Hey friends, what would you recommend for artful image creation today? I’ve enjoyed midjourney, but cancelled my subscription when chatGPT 4 integrated dall·e. But I’ve since found dall·e to be very lacklustre, and wonder: what would you recommend today? Back to midjourney?

There are few things worse than hearing the booming vocalisations of Australians, Americans and British folk whilst travelling in Japan. On the flipside, it’s nice to see fellow gaijin who do their best to fit into the collective flow without taking up space or drawing attention.

About to be back in Tokyo for a few days, staying in shimokitazawa. My main side-quest is trying to find a particular brand of furikake that is popular in Kyoto. I can’t even remember what it’s called: all I know is that it has togarashi, sesame, nori and other bits in it. … I’ll let you know how I go.

Wim Wenders has made, what seems to me, a perfect movie: Perfect Days. https://www.perfectdays-movie.jp/en/ This film is poetic, textured, sublime. It has given me a renewed reverence for life, and all the magic that is to be found in the seemingly mundane. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
