It’s crazy how alive and vibrant Chicago is compared to SF Both are doomer red meat and Chicago def has way more violent crime, but the city is actually alive and this crime isn’t palpable in good areas Whereas SF is literally just a shithole with zombies everywhere. “It’s just the tendy” is cope

There’s lots of options trading firms. Chicago has a vibrant tech scene but nothing like the coasts. I grew up there

The highways are setup to keep the bad parts away from the good. But yeah I spent part of my childhood in affordable housing there and it wasn’t a good time. The city of Chicago is terribly governed, but atleast there’s not homeless people shutting on the streets

The government of SF is much worse, but the tech scene saves it. They’ll spend billions of dollars to fight homelessness but won’t let people build more housing.

SF government is terrible. But the Bay Area is generating massive amounts of new wealth through technology companies. Not the same for Chicago.
