ooh i’m surprised that wheat vs rice isnt more towards the center for gujarat india in pixels is one of my fav accounts to follow on twitter. lots of new stuff i learn and i love learning thru charts and stats the most for whatever reason. haven’t checked the acc for a while tho, ty for reminding me about it again.

Rice is water intensive, Gujarat is dry as fuck. Both my parents are 5’4, and I’m 6’2. It’s because there was a drought when they grew up so their generation is malnourished. So the wheat preference is probably due to water MEV

ah fair. i figured it had to do with how monsoon + winter is in each state bc that's how all our diff cuisines came to be. i was surprised not to see it closer to 0 (probably around where MH is) bc this was based on data after 2010s with our food consumption patterns being way different that it would've been decades ago.
