I think about this daily. Seems like it's impossible to be seen on the app unless you're popular or become a replyguy to get a power badge. Both not very conducive to onboarding new users.

New Framing: User Controlled Who cares if a system is "decentralized" if the nodes/elites are well coordinated and in the same telegram channels. At that point changing the rules or state for everyone else is just as easy as it would be within a fully centralized organization

As a side note, picking up on your first sentence there, I much prefer the term “user controlled” to “decentralized”. That’s the sort of language we need to adopt to reach a broader audience.

'I wanted to send a message'. This happened because we never gave up, we never stopped believing in the potential of crypto. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/17/crypto-congress-democrats-00158630

The internet was always meant to to be peer-to-peer. The FAANGs took advantage of an initially clunky UX and sabotaged that design. Ethereum is re-instating it.

Together with Base, Farcaster has become the centre of experimentation - in what decentralised social networks and Ethereum in general can achieve. This is especially important given L1 is less suitable for pushing the boundaries, and also bc we have yet to unearth the next big thing in this market.

@vitalik.eth's key test to know if a crypto application is sustainable is whether the average user is there to gamble

It is what I use. Worth noting that not all chains or CEXs are covered yet though, which can be a problem for countries like Spain where you'd need to import that data manually.

Ethereum is essentially a realisation of Vint Cerf and co.s’ ideal vision of the internet, augmenting their design with crucial payment and security systems to make it truly global and decentralised.

Whilst fictional, this book presents the most plausible account I’ve read of possible events leading to a war between the USA & China. The role of India as peacemaker and ultimate beneficiary seems particularly prescient: 2034: A Novel of the Next World War by Elliot Ackerman and James G. Stavridis

In light of recent political events in the US that dramatically increase surveillance, get more familiar with privacy preserving technology as a countermeasure. Here are a few apps I recommend: https://app.zkbob.com/ https://www.railway.xyz/ https://whirlprivacy.io/ https://www.fluidkey.com/
