Periodic reminder that OTC melatonin supplements are roughly 10x to 30x higher than what is needed for optimal sleep. The dose you really need is 0.3mg, ideally with a time release.

Even better, avoid synthetic melatonin altogether and consume tart cherry choice / other natural sources of exogenous melatonin that are delivered with other beneficial nutrients https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22038497/

what is the time release factor on that like if you're not trying to eat past 9pm and you sleep at 1am, would this still be viable?

No idea, but I think the point is to make you sleepy after eating The separation of the exogenous chemical and the food *is* the artificial component
