finance guys got absolutely mogged by tech psyop'd into thinking they were alpha for working 18hrs a day, forced to dress a certain way, 2hr commutes, for 150k my senior friend at jane street takes home almost 300k working like a dog and hating it while my other friend takes home 400k playing around with jupyter notebooks at meta (normal hours)

will take the opposite side of this trade tbh. my finance friends post-IB are generally better off than my big tech friends, the hours are not that bad but lot of tech ppl are dealing with layoffs or struggling to get promo'd

Aye but to be fair We're on limited time constraints here in tech because we're hard at work automating our useful parts away But on the bright side we're also automating Finance too, so at least we'll contribute to a bangin soup line

Tech seems to have a higher burnout and much higher risk-reward ratio. Finance is generally safer and cushy AF.
