Anyone out there who is offering a design subscription service?

1. What is the biggest challenge when it comes to get clients for this kind of design service?

3. I see a lot of subscription based design agency have a key person of interest but then a lot of junior designers under the hood. So when does it make sense to scale up the business by hiring other freelance designers?

I know I could’ve asked AI, but I really want to connect with other designers out there and hear from real stories.

2. How do you manage (good problem) work overload if you are running your business as solo?

Interesting POV. I agree, Visibility is the MOST important thing. I'm so bad at personal branding but, It's probably the only way possibile.

content creation is so time consuming and it's easy to loose the faith in the process. Especially when you have 2 kids and bills to pay haha

IMO getting clients for a design sub is not harder / different than getting clients as a freelancer in general! If they think you're the right person, you'll get the client. Visibility is the most important thing

Having a sub doesn't mean they have to stay on for months - actually most of my clients stay for 1-2 months, with exceptions where I did week-long engagements 

You're just being upfront and vocal about your rate

Oh man, Italian clients are...very particular. I have this feeling that none here is prepared for this kind of collab. I mean they don't see the value of the work behind a full-design service paid monthly.

They have a different mindset, like they're willing to pay even more but project based.

(and that's why I'm trying to work more and more with foreign clients)

btw, the onboarding process and the limits communication are crucial. You're right. Do you have a standardized procedure for these steps?

Need to onboard them to that process, but not many clients want to learn that and accept it
