Trying as many different interests as possible. Found it’s just as important to know what you dislike as what you like. All the experience ends up building together for more confidence and decision making later on

Prompt engineering I mean it seriously, get him to play with Stable Diffusion, DALL-E 2, GPT-3, Codex. Let him train asking the AI model in the right way so he gets what he needs.

I think reading is one of the most important things any of us can do. It helps us to communicate better through verbal and writing. Journaling daily is also incredibly underrated and most people don’t take the time to do it.

Pursue at least one thing that matters to him... a crazy career, talent, goal, accomplishment, etc. Just say, what have you always wanted to try or do? After answer, you can say "great, let's make sure you do that before you graduate."

Also, start something. Honestly anything is a really good way to learn what you are good or bad at. Start a club, an online business, something IRL, anything! Learn by doing. Bonus points if it is something he is passionate in.

Only a few years older but I'd say put effort into friendships, read more, & relentlessly pursue your interests. Also, you get back the effort you put in. My top regret is half-assing everything. The one activity I put true effort into I got really good at and had tons of fun.
