random question — is the main use case for Farcaster/crypto culture adjacent tokens like DEGEN or Higher/Enjoy still tipping or are there other forms of utility going on? especially curious as well to hear about the usage of the Degen L3, asking all these questions as someone who isn’t using these tokens extremely often

and if most people here say that the main/only use case has been tipping, I’d be curious to hear why those tokens in particular make more sense than something like USDC that’s more natively built into platforms all across the gambit

yeah i'm interested in the Degen L3 as well – haven't paid much attention but I would assume not much has been built there that couldn't have been done on an L2

haven’t explore L3 so can’t comment on that. primary use-case remains tipping. would be our guess. usdc vs degen. the tip debits from your allowance and not your wallet. people have to work towards keeping and growing their allowance. tipping as a primitive though is interesting. People tip interesting casts, mundane casts, frens, and strangers. but have seen a few cases where artists accepted tips to airdrop art. for some crowdfunding or making good for folks who had their wallets drained. vaguely recall a few auctions maybe too.

Seems like people are still using degen / enjoy tipping but imo the primary use case is as a speculation vehicle for their respective ecosystems (degen = farcaster/base) (enjoy = zora)
