I once saw a quote along the lines of “I read war and peace 11 times and only then did I understand the Russian people” Which illustrates how Kafka’s here is a one dimensional take imo There is more to reading than the personal emotion dimension of how it makes you feel There is also an understanding life dimension, and understanding other perspectives dimension (similar thing), an understanding art dimension
