If you're really active (i.e. publicly posting at least 1x a week) on an internet forum / community about a niche topic: 1. What is it? 2. Where is it hosted? 3. What's frusturating (if anything) about that experience?

I have nothing to add in response to those questions but just want to say that somebody should make a channel(s) specific Farcaster-powered phpBB clone.

1. It's not public, but I regularly post in a forum focused on a minority religious movement. 2. An old-school phpBB forum. 3. There's no sustainable way to pay for the tech maintenance and moderator work, so there's always a risk that they'll burn out and a looming possibility that the forum will shut down.

1. Haskell 2. Discourse 3. Discourse is actually pretty great for technical discussions but community is fragmented by having different online areas: mailing list, IRC, Matrix, reddit, etc. Would be great to have it all on Discourse. Anything in chat apps is lost for posterity

1. VideoGameSage, a forum for video game collecting 2. I’m pretty sure it uses Invision Community 3. Harsh storage limits, like for uploaded images or private messages… I’m always having to delete private messages to send more and I have to use Imgur for images

I'm not actively posting there, but the formal methods community is really pissed about Google Groups: https://ahelwer.ca/post/2023-03-08-google-groups/

I post on LinkedIn every day about personal brand strategy and it’s hosted on LinkedIn. What’s frustrating? How much time you got? https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7172569380097085440?updateEntityUrn=urn%3Ali%3Afs_feedUpdate%3A%28V2%2Curn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7172569380097085440%29

Always, security. On any social platform. Frustrating? The fact people don't take security serious enough with the amount of money being lost daily, nor get the same love from others because it's "not sexy".

my friend and I were hosting a medical research page on instagram. and it's frustrating the our target ppl were so low. idk. less ppl are attracted to research and science. we'll thinking about making a scientific channel here too. on FC. maybe with our scientific memecoin. :)
