Here's something you won't see on the travel lists: Goichi pizza in Kyoto. So unbelievably good, fun environment, just great. I went there twice for dinner in 3 days. I still think about that place like ten months later. (It's a pizza place and it's rated #20 out of 8182 restaurants in Kyoto on Trip Advisor).

Oldest bar in Asakusa. Try to go with a person that speaks japanese, the storytelling behind each drink is amazing. https://asakusa-fureai.net/en/shoplist_en/bar_nemo/

Also Yakiniku Kitan in Osaka was a cool experience with great food for a surprisingly reasonable price https://maps.app.goo.gl/gBBBqhKhbT4w2kyA7?g_st=ic

going on a run at 7am through kyoto is the best time to view the city, before the tourists inundate the temples
