Would you use this if we built it? Read and then vote below! I have 20+ crypto wallets with smaller balances that I've accumulated over the years, especially on ETH L1. Assume you could paste in a seed phrase in the Warpcast mobile app. We would scan the the assets in the wallets, offer a 1-tap swap and send to warplet, and then we would securely delete the seed phrase from Warpcast.

Would use this as an open source standalone tool (really great idea post-7702), but hesitant to use it as part of a larger proprietary app. So many horror stories of some debugging logging middleware leaking secrets from an unrelated feature etc.

Tad bit too risky and it’s easier just copying the warplet address going to the other wallet and sending the token

Can't imagine why anyone would ever do that instead of just send some funds to the wallet

Yeah, I'd actually trust this more than I would just importing the seed phrase and using the wallet as-is tbh. It at least highlights that, yknow, you've shared a seed phrase/private key - so let's move those assets away from that wallet and into one which you haven't broadcast the pk for However, downside: I've a huge amount of wallets but I'm guessing others like me do this for privacy reasons - and try not to tie those wallets by using the same CEX deposit addresses etc. Now that stuff like tornado is.. well, not something that gets you put on a list anymore, implementing something like that to preserve privacy could be a massive incentive for people looking to consolidate wallet balances without exposing all their past addresses.

I said NO because I wouldn’t do this anywhere. I think it’s a bad idea because it sort of co-signs behaviors we warn people not to engage in But then again, maybe it’s the way and I’ve just been here too long

Annoying problem with all those L1 wallets is you need more ETH to get it out so you ended up never fully emptying them out.

i'd rather permit transactions (so i can migrate specific tokens), but yeah maybe… it feels appealing.

I think it depends: Will the warplet be able to connect to external apps in the future? Eg I have people signing up for my hypersub via warplet and then they can’t access the Hypersub website, they need to transfer the nft to an external wallet to do so

Nope. My wallet seed phrase will never touch an internet enabled device.

I’d rather be able to import a PK for a wallet I also use elsewhere (securely ofc) and use that for my Warplet. So my casual CBW and Rainbow wallet would also be my Warplet.

seems a bit niche but I have quite a few wallets with small balances so I could see myself at least trying it if it was live. feel like I'd be a handful of people who would actually use this though

What's the point of this Other addresses are good for potential airdrops/credentials in other apps and on other chains It's much easier to just send the assets from other address than to get a seed phrase and import

If the wallets are not clubbed, I'm assuming I've to paste all the seed phrases one by one?

I will use it, will it swap all valuable assets from the imported wallet to eth? And also which chain will the one tap swap support?
