Channel changes AMA 1. Please read through the doc — I've added a few new screenshots and added another 8 q/a to the FAQ. 2. If something is still unclear, reply with your question and I'll do my best to answer! https://www.notion.so/warpcast/Upcoming-channel-changes-1056a6c0c101800caee6ea8133f8f966

If I’m understanding it all correctly, unless there is some type of token gating (nft, hypersub, fan token, etc) that a bot could approve requests via a frame, members would have to all be invited manually by a mod? If so, wouldn’t that be a lot of work for extremely active channels especially as Warpcast continues to grow?

UI mockups looks great! glad to see you killed the "only narrowcast" idea + looking fwd to hearing more about inviting new FC users to join my channel automatically -- i think "onboarding via channel" is a big opportunity for builders :) few questions: 1) if a non-member reads a cast in a channel *they’re not* a member of, can they copy the cast link + quote cast it in a channel *they are* a member of to discuss it? 2) if a member quote casts something, does it bump that cast to the top of the channel feed? 3) mods can hide posts, but can they unhide them? (ie. can mods see which posts they've hidden in the past + change their mind if necessary?) 4a) followers = audience, members = community -- how do you envision the audience of "readers" signaling desire to become members of a channel? 4b) might this result in main feed casts tagging moderators asking for membership approval, and thus *more* moderation work *outside* the channel itself? (note: i saw your point re: "use DCs" and "no new inbox")

So if I’m asking a question about a dev or crypto topic, should I not cast to a channel to get the maximum number of people to reply? So dev questions shouldn’t go to dev channels in case someone that has a good opinion sees the cast but can’t reply?

You mentioned that non-members can view posts on a channel, but is there a feature that allows the channel owner to block certain users from viewing their channel? On a different note, even if a user is blocked using the current block feature, they can still bypass the restriction and watch live streams through airstack.xyz. Is there a way to block users from doing this as well? cc : @betashop.eth @ipeciura.eth

Nice read as it was clear; In my opinion I think rather than having DC's to join a channel(requesting via direct casts), If users could request to join the channel and the list be in a section where the Mods could manage who gets invited or declined would be great

Given that non-members can read but not participate, is there a concern that this might create a "lurker" heavy environment in some channels?

“Additionally, once invited, you get to decide if you want to be a member or moderator of a channel. It’s opt-in.” This is not clear, users can by themselves decide that they want to be a moderator?, shouldn’t that be in the hands of the person inviting? Is a request sent when they want to be moderators?, one that can be declined by the person inviting

Not a huge fan of point 16. Hiding below the fold. As mods would in my opinion rarely look at it to discover new potential members. Would also suggest a gradual rollout? Otherwise I feel there will be pure chaos of all the links and no option to cast anywhere for a moment :/

Don’t think I’ve seen this asked: Frames casted to channels by members - can channel followers still interact with the frame?

Thanks for the thoughtful details! It’s getting better with each iteration. I’m very supportive! Moxie Fam: these are positive developments for farcaster network growth and for moxie protocol growth

New channel membership will need to come from mods reviewing non-member replies or DCs. Need to make it easy to suggest/find good potential new members. Incentivizes in the short term existing users (& potentially bots) to follow (join) as many channels as possible. (Time for me to look for more channels to join)
