would y'all consider reimbursing a project for the sign up fees if: - project proved they're onboarding quality users - the sign up fee was biggest barrier in onboarding the said users been a big topic recently

@slokh was saying at /latenightcrew that you could decouple fid sign-ups from storage (being able to cast). That this would allow sign-ups to be free, if an fid was all that the user wanted, since storage is what costs $ Idea being that apps that have nothing to do with casting could onboard users to FC for free. So FC could much faster "proliferate" as an identity layer, at least, while the network layer catches up.

Sorta agree with some of the comments. However why not change it to more of a proof of humanity protocol and have the devs need to submit for the use of their bot and tool accounts. It would help with the massive spam, fake engagements and farming that goes on. How can it be accomplished? IDK other than adding KYC I honestly think that it would greatly help user retention.

I had to reread this a few times. I’ve heard about how people don’t like signups that aren’t free, but they’re less likely to use products where you can sign up for free. Always has been confusing.
