I used iCloud mail with custom domains for a while but ended up moving to Google Workspace which has been a much better experience. Google Calendar is much better than Apple calendar, and I also prefer gmail app over mail

I dont like putting all my eggs in one basket. This is specially true for security. I haven’t looked too much into the new Passwords app but what happens if your apple account gets compromised (e.i. Via a sim swap)? Do you lose access to all your passwords as well?

i'm a dedicated keychain user. ux is already great because you can right-click and autofill passwords from keychain in any pw field. expecting that will get even better with sequoia update. icloud for personal email is tough because it doesn't integrate with superhuman, but maybe i could switch back to apple mail...

I use iCloud+ for my work and personal emails (you can hook up custom domains now) plus reminders, notes, apple mail, pages, passwords etc. It is an incredible way to reduce friction.

i tried to use the icloud email domain a year ago, and remember it not being flexible if I wanted to add services, but it may have improved.

I’ve been full on Apple Mail, Notes, Music, Files except for Passwords. I can guarantee that it all works very very well, especially when messing around between Mac and your iPhone and/or iPad. Everything seems ready to use in every device, seamlessly. I’ve always had 1Password, now I’m inclined to go Apple’s.

Didn’t know you can add your own domain to iCloud, that’s way cheaper than running this server on aws. I feel so abused 😢
