It’s only a threat of violence if it’s from the right. Otherwise, we know this is a metaphor. 🤣 https://x.com/aoc/status/1844034727935988155?s=46

ya, its way too common in our media & politics to accuse people of "violent rhetoric" or "violent speech," I find it so silly. language is not violence, even figurative language like "brawl" is obviously not violence, incitement to violence is very, very rare in American politics

"Violent" rhetoric always has to be contextualized. Politicians have always used words like "Fight" (or "Brawl" in this case). It's different when you use a lot of crazy rhetoric and then refuse to condemn violence (or in Trump's case, encourage it or promise to pardon rioters).

The fact that both camps are allowed to spew this rhetoric and poison the wells of late stage capitalism is criminal. Negativity bias has divided our nation and amplified nonsense of politicians who don’t represent the entirety of their constituents. Taxation without representation. Hashtag not a tea bagger.
