When thinking about decentralized social networking, the Fediverse is taking the approach of having the content travel (I post from Mastodon, you read from Threads). I think a much better model is one where the social graph travels: when I log in on a 3rd party website, my social graph is there.

Yeah, for all the (many) issues with the X API, at least they let you access personal social graphs (even if it’s pricey). LinkedIn and Meta either don’t offer those endpoints or make it super limited.
