Damn, this is so interesting. As a medium it feels different. TV wasn't long form audio (it evolved quickly from initial skeuomorphism "radio with pictures") where as podcasts are essentially just vocal/conversations so the cameras add the "eyes" and "facial expressions". Perhaps that as an evolutionary tug.
