Chasing users fleeing another platform is not a long-term valuable strategy. Effort is better spent trying to figure out the compelling reason for people to join the network independently. If you have that, then you can use sudden external entropy to help grow. But sign ups for the sake of sign ups don’t matter.

While I agree it’s not a great place to be spending time & energy, helping out those who have been de-platforms is more than signups for the sake of signups. It does actually demonstrate the value here.

I’m particularly thinking of the artists in web3 affected by this. When Consensus kicked Iranian born artists off MetaMask it was a huge blow to them and their sources of income. I’m not sure there’s a better alternative for those folks than Farcaster.
