everyone in tech has a fomo for the next job, company or a 100x investment, while they should have a fomo for building a family in their home town being financially independent with a healthy family close to your parents should be your goal chasing $100m net worth on the other side of the world won’t make you happy

the coolest thing that americans have is that they can grind in sf without being 9 or 12 timezones away from their loved ones

eh, plenty of east coasters move to SF. Being away from family is hard (granted a flight to the East Coast is easier than Europe). Moving to SF allows for a default baseline of work focus that no other city in the US (if, the world) offers. And I say this as someone who moved after nearly a decade in SF.

Yea I was sus about point this before, but after being in NY for just 2 months I agree. NYC & Miami have too many things going on, higher chances of u being hungover, harder to say no to things, etc. In terms of world, I would guess that Bangalore & Singapore seem like p good for hard core focused work.

there is definitely levels to this game (east coast >> europe > india) this is not a hate towards people moving to sf, i’d probably do it if i had a choice, given i’m young and have plenty of time to build family in poland the cast is for people who treat having family like something secondary to the grind in us
