Why can't I request to join a channel? See the points from the FAQ below, but basically we wanted to avoid creating yet another inbox for owners. Additionally, owners may not want to have people requesting to join. Your channel, your rules. Additional thoughts 1. Channels are not hashtags. We tried that version for the last year or so. Didn't work. With the new direction, they are communities run by individuals or small groups. They are opinionated. We think that's a good thing. 2. One way to think of channels now is they are text-based Twitter Spaces—some people on stage, but a large audience. 3. Reminder: you can always cast in your home feed (goes to all of your followers) or create a new channel. 4. There are already a bunch of tools like Cura from @openrank, /channel-kit from @zachterrell, or @modbot from @haole to let channel owners opt in to have request to join flows. Or token gate with @moxie.eth or @hypersub. 5. We added a link in bio that works with frames to help make this easy.

If communities are opinionated can the opinion be: "let anyone cast without need for membership"? Aka, automatic membership on casting - or as it used to be before the change?

Is there a way since I still cannot access channels I was a frequent participant in like over 3 months I was gaining traction in /base-builds and others are having an even harder time that we can have those historical posts released so that our accounts dont feel abandoned? The vibe of those who cannot post and have their history whipped to the void is STRONG and a lot of them are taking it as the last straw. I hope for them to stay and see it as something to get better over time yet for now retention is on a fine line.

I still insist that there should be options for public or private channels. Many groups don't want to be private. Public groups would allow anyone to join just by pressing the 'follow' button, while private groups are what we currently have

Thank you. However, when it comes to the channel owner's refusal to sign up even if he purchases Pantoken I want you to review it more Then there's no reason to buy channel tokens I believe that the SNS that many users can participate in is warpcast
