When was the last time (if ever) 10% of living Americans had all read the same book?

If new articles don’t count, my bet is Harry Potter. Do you know the answer?

Great question! Wonder if some play of Shakespeare’s has probably popped close to it from time to time.

Knowing that 50.52% of the USA are women, I could safely say that 50.52% of the population in the USA has read "Fifty Shades of Grey"

📚 With @reneeb. Dr Seuss. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "The Cat in the Hat", and "One Fish, Two Fish…" likely have the reach and longevity. "Grinch" also benefits from being perennial in addition to being passed down generationally.

Just to understand the question. Does this mean currently ~35 million people would have simply had to read the book during their lifetime?

The TV guide… Back in the 80’s when we had only 13 channels to choose from which equated to 3 channels that would actually tune in if you positioned your rabbit ear antennas and held your just right. :-) https://i.imgur.com/HQxQ0fa.jpg
