Wasted (and still wasting?) time on encrypted DMs As a cypherpunk I love that you’re doing it But revealed pref is no one cares and it doesn’t drive growth and someone else will eventually solve that for you. They’re not even in the protocol. Huge side quest imho (also I wish you’d call em DMs not DCs)

Makes sense. That’s the more generalized version of what I was thinking of Otoh you need sufficient decentralization. How much less could you have done while still attracting all the builders here?

We haven’t seen a material increase in # of builders post permissionless. Developers care about users and that means growth.

But others did and the existential problem is user growth. That said, this is all moot since we did choose decentralization. Just trying to share honest reflections 3 years in.

We get to where we are today but starting after we’ve cracked the growth problem. It’s a sequencing error imo. Can still solve now, just a bit slower since we have overhead of the existing network. Also the Warpcast name change was dumb in retrospect. Confusing for consumers.

idk, adding decentralization later is also v hard. you have to do them in parallel and i don't think the sequencing is straightforward. though if you have a clear path and the commitment to actually do it, then i agree you could have gone slower down that path and it would have worked better
