For the newer people on Farcaster: These types of replies aren't useful. Better to use a like than a reply. I get that 1) people are excited / trying to be friendly and 2) not everyone's first language is English. However, low effort replies will eventually start to hurt your account's visibility on Farcaster.

Why are you telling people what to cast? Farcaster is a social network with norms. What's made Farcaster a fun place so far is people are thoughtful and take the time to engage meaningfully. Additionally, Warpcast is planning to add defaults that hide low effort replies. (Other apps may offer different options.)

Why do you keep engaging like this? I'm assuming that people have good intentions and are open to constructive feedback, especially given that post-permissionless everyone has to pay to use Farcaster. Want to give everyone a chance.

I'm beginner to English—this is all I can cast. Consider just liking then—it will convey the same meaning but be less noisy. Additionally, consider using Google Translate if you have more to say.

I hid the usernames of these casters because I didn't want to pick on them specifically. I'm assuming people have good intentions and want to learn.

Why do you or other people on Farcaster have 1-word / short replies that don't get criticized? Ah! It's OK to have 1-word / short replies if that's a small % of your overall casting. If you have many high effort casts (and engagement is a good proxy for effort most of the time), then OK to have a few short ones too

Whenever i go through some random users and find their posts forced/ botted/ inappropriate i just leave a friendly advice to what to do and what to avoid. Maybe we need moderators for this work. I don’t think many new users even understand Farcaster well.

Have you thought about changing the active badge into more of a quality DAU /WAU badge?

I understand you mean well but people will do what they want. Your speech will not change this. It is easier for you not to focus on it if you don't like it 😁

Also, there are some accounts who have very random bios or username, difficult to judge whether they’re legit & ideal to connect. This is a problem with many other web3 social networks, any plan on eradicating or filtering them out?

Sybil behavior will always engage for the transaction onchain, regardless of how it hurts their visibility. I'm not sure if it's entirely avoidable. Just a precedent that was created in crypto culture in the past two years

Once warpcast scale, this will easily get out of control. The solution is UX/product. Maybe hiding and deprioritizing this type of cast in the thread, or give a warning/add friction before the user send the cast.

Interesting, how does the algo detect these sorts of replies and affect visibility?

This is the leadership I want to see. The best part of farcaster right now is the community, thoughtfulness, and engagement. It’s important to nurture this culture going forward in whatever ways we can.
