I find myself getting more frustrated with my older son because 

A. He is exactly like me


I’m aware of it and catch myself some times, but it’s a constant battle

It’s as though I punish him for being the things I don’t like about myself

It’s great you’re catching this though, a lot of people wouldn’t want to do the introspection that provides this realization as they’d have to confront those things they don’t like about themselves 

Doing hard personal work for the sake of your children will always be fantastic parenting, keep it up man

Absolutely it’s a catalyst to look inward
