the man, the myth, the legend Peter Thiel, on the election: “my one contrarian view is that the election is not going to be close; both are lose lose situations so there will be buyers remorse and that’s pretty unmotivating if it is close, Kamala will win because they will cheat” oh shit

“AI feels uncomfortably close to 1999 so we’re not investing that much into it.” 👀👀

Makes no sense to me. There were real 0-to-1 unicorns through the .com bubble that are dominating today.

Yes but how do you see them ahead of time? If even Founders Fund can’t maybe it’s not so simple.

Agreed it's not easy but isn't that a different argument from saying it's a bubble? Or perhaps I misunderstood the original statement...

what @turnerinterrupt said plus "not investing **too much**" is key i think. i appreciate his words, people around me keep hammering "bro we have to do ai in order to raise" into me - which i believe is true, but it's not for good reasons, just stupid bandwagoning.

Yeah my perception of 1999 is "bunch of dumb ideas not worthwhile investing in serious money into". I don't think AI fits into that bucket, but it also looks like that's not what was actually meant.
