anyone actually using intellij / webstorm? i have for the past ~10y and it's been the best dev env i've ever tried. granted, i used it for java (be) + js (fe), but it was great for both. recently i've been testing vscode/cursor and they're good (especially cursor w claude), but it's far from what i was used to with jetbrains.

Been using Visual Studio (the commercial one) for decades, but since I've switched to Linux I've been using the JetBrains stuff and it's rubbing off on me... The AI Assistant doesn't seem as good as Claude on Cursor, though, so I'm switching between the two now 😃

yes, using cursor past week or so and it's incredible. though i think it's just a matter of time before jetbrains integrates more powerful models. i'm still kind of blown away how much love vs code is getting even though it's subjectively way worse than intellij. renewing my license is the only thing keeping me away from it for now (and also wanted to see for myself whether i'm not missing out on vsc) 😅

Yeah if there's anyone I'd bet on to get high quality code AI then it'd be JetBrains 😃
