Is this unique allergy treatment groundbreaking — or fraud? https://undark.org/2021/04/28/unorthodox-allergy-clinic-disrupt-medicine/ “Something rubbed me the wrong way,” Neuman said of SoCal’s secrecy. “It flies in the face of most of the things that I believe about science. You know, if someone was sitting on a cure for cancer or Alzheimer’s and wasn’t sharing it, I’d be very suspicious.” Indeed, in interviews with Undark, numerous allergists expressed concern about the SoCal clinic’s approach, yet many hesitated to go on record criticizing a method that has not been published in a reputable, peer-reviewed journal.

Ran into this on the other app as well about this, looks like it triggered the 'call investors' button. Allergy science is still very nascent. One of the problems Allergy research has is that it is grouped with asthma far too often. Asthma's (relatively) simpler mechanism and IgE mediation has shown great results with biologics. But allergy research is filled with confounders and no direct mechanism is still understood. To be frank, one of the issues is the field itself is lacking true direction, this is coming from someone who has had patients try tooth and nail to find a solution and go through rough times navigating it. ENTs, Neuro, Pulm even on top of A+I try to get a piece of the pie. Which is what then leads to gaps that SoCal FA and others use to target desperate patients as @iammatthias mentioned. https://x.com/sweatystartup/status/1827727669590470841
