my ideal way to read books would be to load them into an app like Obsidian, take tons of notes in-line, and then utilize an LLM to resurface interesting bits of the book + my notes whenever i want

Yeah this is exactly what I’m working on too! Found a great repo of classic books formatted in markdown, but some, like General Theory here for example, I’m manually reformatting and adding my annotations. http://zettelgarten.clinamenic.com/Resources/Texts/Keynes_GeneralTheory
