what does farcaster think of this take? feels like this mistakes traders for users. if anything, the actual innovation will come from ownership alignment between builders and early adopters who actually want to USE what's being built https://x.com/cherdougie/status/1884825341400698969

Young, wealthy, educated? lol Big issue is the type of users they are acquiring. You can pretty much forget about any real retention

agreed man what they forget is that most users don’t want to mess with trading at all and just want to complete whatever job they need done, in whatever form is most convenient for them

It's perhaps a new narrative VCs can push teams to pursue so they can all dump on retail

It’s a mid take but it’s true that token incentives are a proven distribution strategy. The caveat is that it’s very short term attention so you better have a way to capture that attention when you light the fuse. Anyone comparing token marketing to trad marketing will come up short. The equivalent is giving away free product which brands only do for launching new products. Sure you get people using the product, but if it sucks no one will stick around.

the token buyers won't care about jelly (product or the coin) in a week.
