Apparently, Unreal Engine is starting to be used pretty widely in movie production as well. I think the investment might have even more to do with that and would be huge for Disney.

unreal has become the high fidelity king for renders tbh - Disney probably making a play for their tech stack as they are secretly one of the best tech/robotics companies out there.
