I go to movies for fiction. Reading feels more detailed and a wasted opportunity if I’m not learning something

Movies are great for storytelling. But limited. I’d argue you do learn something new with every novel you read, but I understand your point.

It probably has a lot to do with not reading much while growing up and learning to love reading later in life for intellectual growth. Thanks for the inspiration tho, Im going to give it a shot

The thing with fiction is if you find a book that really grabs you then for the rest of your life you’re chasing that high. I think a lot of avid fiction readers caught the bug early.
