I go to movies for fiction. Reading feels more detailed and a wasted opportunity if I’m not learning something

It probably has a lot to do with not reading much while growing up and learning to love reading later in life for intellectual growth.

Movies are great for storytelling. But limited. I’d argue you do learn something new with every novel you read, but I understand your point.

Literally every book is better than the movie.

You are missing so much if you just watch movies for fiction, there is so much better books than movies

There are novels which can never excluded in movies. Like Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy! 

The most ambitious novels are beyond films… still!
