What’s the benefit of decentralized or token enabled versions of these? Centralized services feel just fine. Or is the benefit in the user contribution scoring / credentials, therefore SBT are needed to act as a badge of recognition?

Decentralization itself doesn't bring a *ton* (aside from data longevity and a form of censorship resistance - I'd hate it if Instapaper had to shut down, for example), but the ability to incentivize discovery and curation is potentially huge.
