I was bivocational already and another church wanted to merge at the same time I had an offer at LinkedIn. “Fortunate” timing. 

I’m a Calvinist (I know I know I’m sorry), so no such thing as fortune but you may get what I mean.

You never know. It’s one thing to be a Christian in tech. 

It’s often quite another to be a Calvinist in the Church; don’t always have the best of reputations in my experience (usually because of miscommunication or misunderstandings on both sides). 🤣

No issues with predestination here. What God has elected privately doesn’t change the commissions he’s made public. (Also: God. He can jolly well do as He pleases.)
