am i the only one who prefers playing a good, story-driven video game to watching most movies or TV shows? not like i never watch movies or shows, but i feel like a lot on that time budget gets consumed by story-driven games for me

while there are tons of crap games now, there are also so many amazing ones with epic stories my only complaint is how long some of them are, but i guess that’s to be expected with the more intricate stories

I agree but games are so long now that the time commitment is too much. Its hard to find a game with a good story thats not too long

A more immersive use of time, and definitely more satisfying.

I have never been able to dive into a story of a game like I am able to dive into a story of a book, movie or TV show. I might have tried the wrong games though. Which is the one that should get me hooked?

is that a recent thing or has it always been like that for you? bc i think that the quality of movies and series has drastically decreased over the past years imo, specially the former

Not at all! I actually prefer experiencing remakes of older games with new super graphic, and for me, it's far more exciting than watching movies or TV shows. Check out the games that have been remade with great stories. IMO, for the money spent on them, the results are much better than the films.

Yes! People underestimate how solid of stories games can provide. Directors are finally realizing this and making movies out of them..Also a good game is way more stimulating than movies/shows. Interestingly I always come out of movies a lil depressed for some reason, whereas I dont with games 😅

A well written story driven game is much better than any movie. That’s why RDR2 is my all time favourite game.

depends. if i was solo i'd definitely prefer a good game like that (half life, uncharted, last of us...), but having very little free time i rather spend it with wife. and watching a movie/tv show is just way easier in terms of coordination and energy spend, and almost as fulfilling as a good game - but you have to pick what you watch more carefully.
